Monet is our fifth Doberman Pinscher since 1980. We have always owned black females. She is the most accomplished, although she does not have her Confirmation title because of a problem with her hair coat since she was young, she has done everything we have ever tried with a happy attitude. We had shown Paint Horses for many years, until a broken leg two years ago from a horse falling on me while in competition. I started showing the dog to try to re-direct my competitive spirit and for the physical therapy.
Monet is our second Therapy Dog, but our first with T.D.I., International, and our third year. Monet loves to visit anyone who will pay attention to her, be it young or old.
She has learned many tricks, as food is one of her favorite pastimes, and she will do anything for a treat. She loves going for a ride in the car, even if you are just moving the car out of the garage.
Dobermans are great family dogs. They need to live in the house with you, and prefer to go where you go. They are highly intelligent, so they need to have both mental and physical excercise or they will find something to do. They have a short easy care coat with minimal shedding. They do well with other dogs and animals in the family. They are a very agile and regal chaperone with a natural sense of protection.
