Treating Pet Skin Conditions at Irvine
Dogs and cats can develop a variety of chronic and inflammatory skin conditions, but some are more common than others. Allergies, bacterial infections, fungal infections, chronic scratching, skin parasites, and hair loss are just a few of them.
Our vets can distinguish between the various conditions associated with pet skin conditions similar to dermatologists thanks to years of training and experience in veterinary dermatology. This enables a more precise diagnosis as well as the most effective treatment.
What to Expect at Your Pet’s Appointment
Our veterinarians will work with you to determine the source of your pet's discomfort and will make treatment recommendations based on their specific requirements.
Examination & Diagnosis
At the beginning of the veterinary dermatology appointment, our veterinarian will review your pet's history to aid in the diagnosis of their condition. Next, they will use the diagnostic tools at our in-house laboratory to establish the source of your pet’s skin condition, much like a feline or canine dermatologist would do.
We'll devise a treatment plan for your pet's skin condition once we've determined what's causing it. Prescription medication, shampoo/conditioner, an ear flush, allergy vaccines, or simple changes to your pet's environment are all options for treatment.
